Moving Tips

Have all boxes taped and clearly labeled
Have beds stripped and ready to be moved
Remove all loose articles from dressers, cabinets, etc. (clothing may stay)
Set aside valuable items to carry with you including jewelery, vital documents, money and small valuable items 
Transfer bank accounts
Contact local utilities including gas, electrical, phone and cable
Fill out and mail Post Office change of address form
Household chemicals must be sealed in a spill resistant container such as a plastic bag or tote
Use wardrobe boxes for items such as shovels, rakes fishing poles, etc.
Properly dispose of items considered too dangerous to move including flammable liquids
Have rugs and draperies cleaned and leave wrapped in plastic when they are returned from cleaners
If you have a pool table, hire a professional to come in and disassemble it

Safety Tips

Refillable tanks must be purged and sealed by a professional propane dealer
Books should be packed in small to medium size boxes to prevent injury
Drain fuel and oil from machinery including mowers, trimmers, etc.
Partially used chemicals such as oil, paint and thinner should be properly disposed of to prevent spill damage
Think twice before dismantling your outside T.V. antenna.
A new one may cost less than moving the present one!

Moving Appliances

Defrost and dry any refrigerators and freezers to be moved
Gas appliances such as stoves and dryers must be disconnected prior to pick-up. Be sure gas lines are tightly closed and capped
All removable stove parts including coils and drip trays should be packed separately
Consult an authorized dealer or service tech for air conditioners. Many sealed units need to be bolted down during transit to ensure proper function.

Exclusions

Due to State and/or Federal regulations, we can not transport the following:
Pressurized tanks such as propane, oxygen and acetylene. We can only transport tanks that are professionally emptied, purged and sealed
Flammable or combustible items such as gasoline and fireworks
Loose or open household chemicals. Household chemicals must be sealed in spill/leak resistant containers
Loose or open firearms and ammunition. Firearms must be in a locked case, unloaded with the action open per State law. Ammunition must be in an appropriate container
Under no circumstances will we transport any items that are illegal or deemed "HAZMAT" (hazardous material)
